It is often quoted that "the only constant is change", and we are inclined to agree. As creators and makers, change fuels inspiration and this November, Art House will be evolving into a new format.
With two years of community-building and support for the arts under our belt, we are so excited about a new blending of space with Cowork Penticton. Although it is a big physical change to move 3,000 square feet into a much smaller footprint, the benefits outweigh the losses. The Coworking model is based around resource-sharing, and the artists will be able to use the meeting and workshop rooms to further their own creative careers. Artists will also be able to leverage the increased public awareness of their work due to foot traffic through the building and the inevitable networking that will occur in conversations beside the espresso machine.
Cowork Penticton's downtown location is a boon for member artists who can enjoy walking the downtown core, as well as taking part in activities that will bring more public through their spaces. Cowork's brand and reputation in the community is award-winning and broad-reaching. The coworking movement is a global trend and partnerships with creative workspaces are very common. Coworking spaces are catalysts for collaboration, networking, and idea-generation. It is a natural fit to bring the Art House into Cowork Penticton.
Over the next few months you will begin to see a blending of events and activities at Cowork that seems to speak to both groups. this is where business development will spill into the realm of the artist, and out-of-the-box thinking will enhance the entrepreneur. We are so excited about this upcoming year of change and growth for both communities and we hope you will drop in to see us sometime!!
