Nowhere else in the South Okanagan is there a dedicated creative space like ours.
And we are putting out the call for 2 specific kinds of artist -
The Hacker: loves noodling with electronics, repurposing existing objects for new and often wacky uses. Is found using words like: Ardiuno, Raspberry pi and microcontroller. Loves the oscilloscope and soldering iron. Free exchange of ideas, skills, and knowledge are encouraged, especially at periodic gatherings sometimes called build nights or open house days.
The Maker: is passionate about building; new out of old, fresh purpose from standard usage. Could be found in a woodworking shop, metal shop, pottery studio, mechanics shop or at a sewing machine. May crossover in to electronics and programming, but not necessarily. "Maker-Culture" re-brands pursuits and processes that extend into prehistory — making things and communicating how. Making things always combines form with function; the art of making should be appreciated and celebrated.
If you are interested in being a part of Art House for these reasons - please contact us.
Also, we are surveying interest in obtaining a 3D printer for the space. Please add your thoughts to our survey, here
